MEET JON
Army Veteran. Business Leader. Nebraska First.
Jon Capps is a U.S. Army veteran, entrepreneur, and respected community leader with over 30 years of real-world experience helping everyone from Main Street businesses to Fortune 100 companies solve complex problems in areas like broadband, infrastructure, and biofuels. As a former CTO and IT systems architect, Jon has led projects for Microsoft, IBM, ExxonMobil, and Texas Instruments.
Jon and his wife Lori live in Blue Hill, Nebraska, where he serves as Commander of American Legion Post 176 and Vice Chairman of the Webster County Republican Party, is a certified Range Safety Officer and distinguished Life Member of the NRA, and a proud member of the Nebraska Farm Bureau and Nebraska Cattlemen.
Jon is running for the Legislature to bring smarter systems, stronger accountability, and steady leadership to Nebraska’s future.

I’m not a career politician or party insider. I’ve worn the uniform, built businesses, and raised a family on Nebraska values. I’m running because we need a steady hand in Lincoln who answers to the people.

Jon's Pledge & Plan
A Nebraska First Agenda. Built for the People, Not the Powerful.
Constitutional Leadership & Limited Government
✓ Defend the U.S. and Nebraska Constitutions—protecting liberties, free speech, religious freedom, and the Second Amendment.
✓ Restore transparency and accountability across state government with streamlined systems and zero tolerance for bureaucratic waste.
✓ Champion DOGE Nebraska: Digitally Optimize Government Efficiency to deliver modern, cost-effective services.
Tax Relief & Fiscal Responsibility
✓ Cut income and property taxes that punish families, farmers, and small businesses.
✓ Eliminate unnecessary spending and enforce zero-based budgeting.
✓ Ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely—with performance-based audits and accountability.
Defend Life, Family & Parental Rights
✓ Stand unapologetically pro-life—abortion is not birth control.
✓ Defend parental authority in education, healthcare, and moral upbringing.
✓ Uphold biological truth and protect women’s spaces and sports from gender ideology.
Public Safety & First Responders
✓ Fully fund and equip rural police, fire departments, and EMS services.
✓ Protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners and maintain my commitment to the Second Amendment as an NRA-certified Range Safety Officer.
✓ Back the badge and oppose soft-on-crime policies that endanger our communities.
Economic Growth & Business Freedom
✓ Cut red tape and overregulation that strangles entrepreneurship.
✓ Expand rural economic opportunities through tech infrastructure and workforce development.
✓ Support local manufacturing, small business, and private-sector innovation.
Secure Elections & Local Control
✓ Require stronger voter ID and citizenship verification at every stage to ensure every legal vote counts — and only legal votes count.
✓ Preserve secure early in-person and limited absentee voting for military and legitimate shut-ins while ending unsecured mass mailings and drop boxes.
✓ Keep elections transparent and locally controlled with paper ballots, precinct-level hand counts, and U.S.-based technology.
Agriculture, Land & Rural Infrastructure
✓ Expand markets for Nebraska cattle, corn, and soybeans through trade, value-added ag, and biofuels.
✓ Invest in clean water, wastewater systems, and rural broadband as critical infrastructure.
✓ Ban foreign ownership and long-term leasing of Nebraska farmland—protecting local control and food security.
Education Freedom & Excellence
✓ Promote school choice, homeschooling, and trade education.
✓ Oppose political indoctrination in public schools; return focus to core academics.
✓ Prioritize rural schools through equitable funding and infrastructure.
Veterans & National Guard Support

✓ Expand programs through the American Legion and similar service groups.
✓ Defend the dignity and benefits of those who served.

✓ Oppose federal overreach on Nebraska’s water, energy, and natural resources.
✓ Invest in smart, locally driven conservation strategies.
