Doing More with Less: Modernizing Nebraska’s Government to Serve You Better

In rural Nebraska, we’ve always known how to do more with less. Whether it’s fixing equipment with the parts we have on hand, finding ways to stretch the feed supply, or making a small-town budget work, we understand efficiency.

Unfortunately, that’s not how government operates. In Lincoln, waste hides in outdated processes, redundant programs, and technology that belongs in a museum. Every inefficiency has one thing in common — it costs you money.

I’ve spent over 30 years as a CTO and IT systems analyst, helping large organizations — from Fortune 100 companies to government agencies — streamline operations, secure data, and save millions. The Nebraska Legislature needs that same approach.

If you send me to represent Clay, Nuckolls, Webster, Franklin, Harlan, Phelps, Furnas, and Red Willow counties, here’s how I’ll bring modern solutions to state government:

  1. Upgrade Outdated Systems Many state agencies are using decades-old software that’s slow, insecure, and expensive to maintain. Modern systems can cut costs, speed up services, and reduce fraud.

  2. Eliminate Redundant Programs State programs often overlap, wasting taxpayer money. I’ll push for performance audits to identify what’s working — and cut what’s not.

  3. Secure Our Data Nebraska holds sensitive information on every resident. We must have the strongest cybersecurity in place to protect against hackers and foreign threats.

  4. Make Government Accessible In the digital age, citizens should be able to interact with their government as easily as they do with their bank. That means secure, user-friendly systems that work for everyone, including rural residents.

This isn’t about making government bigger — it’s about making it smarter. We can cut costs, improve transparency, and deliver better service without raising taxes.

When Nebraska’s government runs like a well-oiled machine, taxpayers win — and our rural communities get the resources they need without more burdens. That’s the kind of efficiency I’ve built my career on, and it’s exactly what I’ll bring to Lincoln.
