Jon Capps Issues Statement on 'Cornhusker Clink' Partnership with DHS

I fully support the new DHS–Nebraska partnership to expand detention capacity through the ‘Cornhusker Clink.’ This is the right move for our state and our country. Illegal aliens who break our laws need to be detained and deported. Period.

At the same time, Nebraska has always welcomed legal migrants who come here the right way — to work hard, raise families, and pursue the American dream. There is a clear difference between those who follow the law and those who don’t.

A secure border and the consistent enforcement of the rule of law are not optional — they are essential to protecting our communities and preserving the integrity of our nation. I applaud this partnership and will always stand for secure borders, safe communities, and lawful immigration.
