Blue Hill, NE — Jon Capps, Republican candidate for the Nebraska Legislature in District 38, issued the following statement today in response to Governor Jim Pillen’s executive order ending taxpayer funding of abortion providers through the state’s Medicaid program:

“I strongly applaud Governor Pillen and Attorney General Hilgers for their unwavering leadership in protecting innocent life and ensuring Nebraska taxpayers are no longer forced to subsidize the abortion industry. This is a historic and morally right decision that reflects the values of our state and honors the sanctity of life.
As a Christian, a father, and a conservative, I believe every life is precious and worthy of protection. The state’s action today sends a clear message that Nebraska stands for life—from conception to natural death—and that government has a duty to uphold that principle. I’m grateful for leaders who have the courage to act on their convictions and defend the most vulnerable among us.”
